An area of speciality for RBS is providing scaffolding solutions for multiple-storey constructions or tower blocks. One such project undertaken by us in 2016 was at Europa House student accommodation in Portsmouth at 18 storeys (60m) high.
Europa House was previously an office building, comprising the main 18 storey block and a 9m annex building. The purpose of the project was to convert the entire complex into a 242-bed student accommodation facility – to include studio apartments, 2, 3 and 4-bed apartments at a value estimated at £21m. This scaffold required external design to include plan bracing, double standards and the accommodation of a full-height goods and passenger hoist.
High-rise skyscrapers have become an area of expertise for RBS and we are fully aware of the specific risks (espcecially access and egress concensa, as well as emergency rescue procedures) required for such projects.
